PHD Sociology

Program Description

Sociology examines how societies are organised, and how class, gender, ethnicity, institutions and culture shape people's lives and choices. Students learn to gather and interpret evidence about social patterns, and to question explanations that seem obvious. Graduates often work in research, policy, social services, human resources, media and the non-profit sector.
