1. Acceptance of Terms
Welcome to Nara Abroad. These Terms of Service (the "Terms") govern your access to and use of the Nara Abroad website, platform, and related services (together, the "Service"), operated by Nara Abroad with its headquarters in London, United Kingdom, and a branch in Doha, Qatar ("Nara Abroad", "we", "us", or "our").
By accessing or using the Service, creating an account, or purchasing any paid plan, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and by any policies referenced in them, including our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, please do not use the Service.
These Terms apply to everyone who uses the Service, whether you are simply browsing destinations and programmes or subscribing to a paid advisor plan. Please read them carefully and keep a copy for your records.
2. Definitions
To make these Terms easier to read, the following words have the meanings set out below:
- "Service" means the Nara Abroad website, platform, AI matching engine, advisor plans, and any related tools, content, and features.
- "User", "you", or "your" means any person who accesses or uses the Service, including visitors and account holders.
- "Account" means the personal account you create to access certain features of the Service.
- "AI Matching Engine" means the automated technology we use to suggest destinations, universities, and programmes that may suit your profile.
- "Advisor Plan" means an optional paid plan that provides one-to-one guidance through applications, documents, and visa preparation.
- "Institution" means any third-party university, college, school, or educational body to which you may apply through or with the help of the Service.
- "Content" means any text, data, documents, recommendations, graphics, and other materials made available through the Service.
Words in the singular include the plural and vice versa, and headings are for convenience only.
3. Eligibility
The Service is intended for users aged 16 and over. By using the Service, you confirm that you are at least 16 years old.
- If you are under 18, you confirm that a parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf and consents to your use of the Service.
- If you are using the Service on behalf of another person, such as a parent assisting a student, you confirm that you are authorised to do so and accept these Terms for both of you.
- You confirm that the information you provide about your age, identity, and academic background is accurate and that you are legally able to enter into a binding agreement.
If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 16, or that the required parental consent was not given, we may suspend or close the account. Our approach to younger users is also described in our Privacy Policy.
4. Accounts and Security
You can browse much of the Service without an account, but some features, including the AI Matching Engine and advisor plans, require you to register. When you create and maintain an account, you agree to:
- Provide accurate, current, and complete information, and keep it up to date.
- Keep your login details, including your password, confidential and not share them with others.
- Notify us promptly at info@nara-abroad.co.uk if you suspect any unauthorised access to or use of your account.
- Take responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account, whether or not you authorised it.
You must not create an account using another person's identity, use more than one account to abuse promotions or free features, or transfer your account to anyone else without our consent. We may refuse to register, or may suspend, any account at our reasonable discretion, including to protect the security and integrity of the Service.
5. Description of the Service — Nara Abroad Is a Facilitator
Nara Abroad is a study-abroad platform that helps students explore their options and prepare strong applications. Through the Service you can:
- Explore destinations, universities, colleges, and programmes around the world.
- Receive personalised suggestions from our AI Matching Engine based on the profile and preferences you share.
- Optionally subscribe to an advisor plan for one-to-one help with applications, documents, and visa preparation.
It is important that you understand the following:
- Nara Abroad is NOT a university, college, or educational institution, and we do not award degrees, qualifications, or admission offers.
- Nara Abroad does NOT make admission decisions and does NOT make visa or immigration decisions. Those decisions are made solely by the relevant Institutions, governments, and immigration authorities.
- We act as a facilitator and guide. We help you find and apply to third-party Institutions, but we are not a party to any agreement between you and an Institution, and we have no authority over their decisions.
The suggestions produced by our AI Matching Engine are informational aids to help you decide, not advice that any particular outcome will follow, and you remain responsible for your own choices.
6. Free Browsing and Paid Advisor Plans
The Service offers both free and paid features so you can choose the level of support you need.
- Free features: Exploring destinations, universities, and programmes, and being matched by our AI Matching Engine, are free to use. You can discover your options and shortlist programmes at no cost.
- Paid advisor plans: For students who want hands-on support, we offer optional paid advisor plans. These add one-to-one guidance from an advisor through your applications, document preparation, and visa preparation.
Paid plans are entirely optional. You are never required to purchase a plan to browse the Service or use the AI Matching Engine. The features included in each plan are described at the point of purchase, and we may add, change, or retire plan features over time as the Service evolves. Subscribing to a paid plan does not change the fact that Nara Abroad is a facilitator and cannot guarantee any admission, scholarship, or visa outcome (see Section 9).
7. Fees, Payment, Refunds, and Cancellation
If you choose a paid advisor plan, the following terms apply:
- Pricing and what is included are shown to you clearly before you confirm any purchase. By completing a purchase, you agree to pay the stated fee for the plan you select.
- Payments are handled by trusted third-party payment providers. We do not store your full card details. You agree to provide valid, current payment information and authorise us, through our providers, to charge the applicable fees.
- Subscriptions, where offered, renew for successive periods until cancelled. You can cancel future renewals through your account or by contacting us, and cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
- Cancelling stops future charges but does not, by itself, create a right to a refund of fees already paid for the current period, except where required by law or expressly stated at the point of purchase.
- Refunds, where they apply, are described at purchase and assessed in line with applicable consumer-protection law. If you believe you are entitled to a refund, contact us at info@nara-abroad.co.uk and we will review your request fairly.
Unless stated otherwise, fees are exclusive of any taxes, bank charges, or currency-conversion costs, which are your responsibility. We may change our fees from time to time, and any change will apply only to future purchases or to renewals after we have given you reasonable notice.
8. Your Responsibilities and Acceptable Use
You are responsible for how you use the Service and for the information and documents you provide. You agree to:
- Provide truthful, accurate, and complete information in your profile, applications, and any documents you submit.
- Use only documents and credentials that genuinely belong to you and that you are entitled to use.
- Comply with all laws that apply to you and with the rules of any Institution you apply to.
You agree NOT to:
- Submit false, misleading, fraudulent, or forged information or documents.
- Impersonate any person or organisation, or apply on behalf of someone else without proper authorisation.
- Upload content that is unlawful, defamatory, abusive, or that infringes anyone's rights.
- Introduce viruses or malicious code, attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service, or interfere with its normal operation.
- Scrape, copy, or harvest data or content from the Service using automated means without our written permission.
- Use the Service in any way that could damage, disable, or overburden it, or harm other users.
You are solely responsible for the accuracy and integrity of anything you submit to an Institution. Misrepresentation can lead an Institution or authority to reject your application, and we are not responsible for the consequences of inaccurate information you provide.
9. Applications to Third-Party Institutions — No Guarantee of Admission, Scholarship, or Visa
When you apply to an Institution through or with the help of the Service, you are applying to an independent third party. Please understand and accept the following:
- Nara Abroad does not control, and is not responsible for, the admission criteria, decisions, timelines, fees, scholarships, or policies of any Institution.
- We cannot and do not guarantee that you will be admitted to any programme, that you will receive any scholarship or financial aid, or that any visa or immigration application will be approved.
- Admission decisions rest entirely with the Institutions; scholarship decisions rest with the relevant funding bodies; and visa and immigration decisions rest entirely with the relevant government authorities.
- Our role is to help you understand your options, prepare a strong application, and submit it properly. The outcome depends on your qualifications, the Institution's and authorities' own assessments, and factors outside our control.
Any estimates, likelihoods, or suggestions we provide, including those from the AI Matching Engine, are for guidance only and are not promises of any result. You should always verify requirements, deadlines, and conditions directly with the relevant Institution or authority before relying on them.
10. Intellectual Property
The Service and everything in it that is provided by us — including the platform, the AI Matching Engine, text, graphics, logos, the "Nara Abroad" name and brand, software, and the selection and arrangement of Content — is owned by Nara Abroad or our licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
- We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable licence to access and use the Service for your own genuine study-abroad purposes, in accordance with these Terms.
- You must not copy, reproduce, modify, distribute, sell, publicly display, or create derivative works from any part of the Service, or use our name, logos, or branding, without our prior written permission, except as expressly allowed by these Terms or by law.
- You keep ownership of the documents and content you upload (such as your essays, transcripts, and certificates). You grant us a licence to use, store, and process that content only as needed to provide the Service to you and as described in our Privacy Policy.
- If you send us feedback, suggestions, or ideas about the Service, you agree that we may use them freely without any obligation to you.
All rights not expressly granted to you are reserved by Nara Abroad and our licensors.
11. Privacy
Your privacy matters to us. Our Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use and protect it, when we share it (for example, with Institutions you choose to apply to and with service providers who help us run the platform), and the rights you have over your data.
- The Privacy Policy forms part of these Terms, and by using the Service you also agree to it.
- Where you ask us to help you apply to an Institution, you authorise us to share the relevant parts of your profile and documents with that Institution for that purpose.
- You can exercise your data-protection rights, including access, correction, and deletion, as described in the Privacy Policy.
Please read the Privacy Policy carefully alongside these Terms. If anything about how we handle your information is unclear, contact us at info@nara-abroad.co.uk before using the Service.
12. Third-Party Links and Services
The Service may contain links to, or rely on, websites, content, and services operated by third parties, such as Institutions, payment providers, and other partners.
- We provide these links and integrations for your convenience. We do not control third-party sites or services and are not responsible for their content, accuracy, policies, or availability.
- Your use of any third-party website or service is governed by that party's own terms and privacy policy, not by ours. Please review them before using those services.
- A link or integration does not mean we endorse, or are affiliated with, the third party, unless we clearly state otherwise.
Any dealings you have with a third party through the Service — including applications, payments, or agreements with an Institution — are solely between you and that third party. We are not responsible for any loss or issue arising from those dealings.
13. Disclaimers and No Warranties
We work hard to provide a reliable and helpful Service, but we provide it on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, and except for any rights you have as a consumer that cannot be excluded:
- We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or always available, or that defects will be corrected.
- We do not warrant that the information, listings, or recommendations on the Service — including programme details, requirements, deadlines, fees, and AI Matching Engine suggestions — are complete, accurate, or up to date, as these depend on third parties and change over time.
- We do not warrant any particular result from using the Service, including admission, scholarship, or visa outcomes (see Section 9).
The Service does not constitute legal, immigration, financial, or professional advice. You should obtain independent professional advice where appropriate, and always confirm important requirements directly with the relevant Institution or authority. Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have under mandatory consumer-protection law that cannot lawfully be excluded.
14. Limitation of Liability
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability where it would be unlawful to do so — for example, for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot be limited under the law of England and Wales.
Subject to that, and to the fullest extent permitted by law:
- We will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss, or for any loss of profits, opportunity, savings, data, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service.
- We will not be liable for the acts, decisions, or omissions of any Institution, government authority, payment provider, or other third party, including any refusal of admission, scholarship, or visa.
- Our total liability to you for all claims arising out of or relating to the Service or these Terms will not exceed the total amount you paid to us for the relevant paid plan in the twelve (12) months before the event giving rise to the claim. Where you have not paid us anything, our aggregate liability is limited to a nominal amount permitted by law.
This Section reflects a fair allocation of risk in light of the fact that core browsing and matching features are provided free and that final decisions rest with third parties.
15. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Nara Abroad, its officers, employees, advisors, and partners from and against any claims, demands, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, and reasonable expenses (including legal fees) that arise out of or are connected with:
- Your breach of these Terms or of any law or regulation.
- Any false, inaccurate, misleading, fraudulent, or forged information or document you provide through the Service or submit to an Institution or authority.
- Your misuse of the Service, including any activity prohibited under Section 8.
- Your infringement of the intellectual property or other rights of any third party.
We will notify you of any such claim where practicable and may, at our option, take control of its defence. This obligation continues even after you stop using the Service or your account is closed, to the extent it relates to your earlier use.
16. Suspension and Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time and may close your account by contacting us or through your account settings, where available.
We may suspend or terminate your access to all or part of the Service, with or without notice depending on the circumstances, if:
- You breach these Terms or any policy referenced in them.
- We reasonably suspect fraud, misuse, or activity that is unlawful or harmful to other users, Institutions, or us.
- We are required to do so by law, or to protect the security or integrity of the Service.
Where it is reasonable and lawful to do so, we will give you notice and an opportunity to address the issue before suspending or terminating. On termination, your right to use the Service ends, but any provisions that by their nature should survive — including those on intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, and governing law — will continue to apply. If you have paid for a plan and we terminate without good cause, we will refund any fees relating to the period after termination, as required by law.
17. Changes to the Service and to These Terms; Governing Law and Contact
Changes to the Service: We are always improving Nara Abroad, so we may add, change, suspend, or discontinue features (including parts of advisor plans or the AI Matching Engine) over time. Where a change materially reduces a paid feature you are using, we will act fairly and in line with your consumer rights.
Changes to these Terms: We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our Service, technology, or legal requirements. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date below and, for material changes, give you reasonable notice by email or through a notice on the platform. Your continued use of the Service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms. If you do not agree, you should stop using the Service and may close your account.
Governing law and dispute resolution: These Terms, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or the Service, are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales will have exclusive jurisdiction, except that, if you are a consumer, you may also have the right to bring proceedings in the courts of the country where you live, and you keep the benefit of any mandatory consumer-protection rights available to you locally. We are happy to try to resolve any concern informally first, so please contact us before starting formal proceedings.
