How much of a substance makes it harmful, and by what mechanism? Toxicology investigates the effects of chemicals, drugs and pollutants on living systems, combining laboratory experiment with risk assessment and regulation. Graduates often work in pharmaceuticals, chemical safety, environmental monitoring, forensic laboratories or regulatory science.
