Program Description

Food science applies chemistry, microbiology and engineering to what we eat: how ingredients behave, how products are preserved, and how safety and quality are controlled from processing to shelf. Laboratory analysis of formulation and composition is a common part of the work. Graduates often work in product development, quality assurance, food safety and manufacturing.
