University of Limerick
The University of Limerick was founded in 1972 as the National Institute for Higher Education, Limerick and became a university in 1989. This made it the first university to be established since Ireland gained its independence in 1922. It has more than 16,500 students including more than 2,000 international students. It is ranked just outside the top 500 universities in the world in the QS World University Rankings and in the top 800 in the Times Higher Education rankings. The University of Limerick has also been awarded a 5-star rating from the QS Stars rating system. This is the highest possible award and it is the only Irish university to achieve this standard. MSc Chemical and Biochemical Engineering
Chemical engineering scales chemistry up from the flask to the plant, designing the reactors, separation units and control systems that turn raw materials into fuels, medicines, food and materials. Bachelor of Science in Bioscience - Biological and Chemical Sciences (Common Entry)
Biology is the study of living things, from molecules and cells to organisms, populations and whole ecosystems. Laboratory and field methods sit alongside genetics, physiology, evolution and ecology.
