Anthropology asks what it means to be human, studying kinship, belief, language, power and material life across societies past and present. Much of the discipline rests on close fieldwork and careful comparison rather than assumption. BA/BFA Writing
Writing focuses on the craft of putting language to work — structure, voice, rhythm and revision — across forms such as fiction, essays, scripts and professional communication. Workshops, close reading and feedback on drafts are common. Graduates often move into publishing, editing, content and communications, teaching, or their own writing projects.
BA/BFA Theatre
Theatre examines live performance from both sides of the stage: acting, directing, writing, design and stagecraft, together with the history and theory of how drama works on an audience. Text, rehearsal and staging are treated as connected parts of a single craft. Graduates often work in performance, directing, production, arts organisations, teaching and screen work.
BA Art History and Visual Studies
History reconstructs and interprets the past from evidence: documents, objects, testimony and data, always asking who produced a source and why. The training is in research, argument and writing rather than memorising events. Graduates often work in research, archives and museums, teaching, journalism, law, policy and administration.
BA Applied Linguistics
Applied linguistics studies language as it is actually used, and applies that understanding to practical problems: how people learn additional languages, how translation and assessment work, how multilingual communities function, and how language policy is shaped. Graduates often work in language teaching and materials, testing, editing, localisation and language technology.
