Program Description

The study of a language preserved mainly in its literature rather than in daily speech: grammar, vocabulary, and the careful reading of texts in the original. Translation, linguistic analysis and the history of ideas run through the work. Graduates often move into teaching, research, heritage, publishing, editing and law.
