Program Description

The sociology of the family studies households and kinship as social institutions: marriage, parenting, care, inheritance, and the ways family life differs across cultures and changes over time. Students learn social theory and research methods, from interviews to survey analysis. Graduates often work in social research, policy, community services or education.
