Logic in computer science studies formal reasoning as it applies to programs and machines: proof systems, specification languages, verification, type theory, and what can be computed or decided at all. The work is rigorous and symbolic. Graduates often move into software verification, compiler and language design, security research, and academic computer science.
PhD in Health Sciences

Health sciences sit alongside management and social science. Graduates often work in clinical support, health administration, public health bodies and service improvement.
MSci Microbiology
Microbiology studies bacteria, viruses, fungi and other organisms too small to see: how they live, how they cause disease, and how they are used in medicine, agriculture and industry. Laboratory technique is central, from culturing and identification to genetics and analysis. Graduates often work in clinical and research laboratories, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals and food safety.
MSc Systems, Control and Signal Processing
Control systems engineering designs the feedback loops that keep machines and processes behaving as intended, from aircraft and robots to chemical plants and power networks. Students study dynamics, modelling, stability, sensors and controller design, supported by mathematics and simulation. Graduates often work in automation, aerospace, energy, robotics and manufacturing.
MSc Sustainability
Sustainable development studies how human needs — energy, food, housing, work — can be met without exhausting the systems everyone depends on. It draws on economics, environmental science, governance and social equity, and asks who bears the cost of each choice. Graduates often work in development organisations, environmental programmes, policy analysis and corporate responsibility.

Study links physiological principles to practical testing, interpretation of results and interaction with patients. Graduates often work in hospital diagnostic departments, cardiac and respiratory services, medical device companies or clinical research.
MSc Banking and Finance
Finance concerns how money is raised, invested and managed, and how risk and return are priced over time. Topics run from corporate funding decisions and valuation through to markets, portfolios and financial instruments. Graduates often work in corporate finance, banking, investment and asset management, risk analysis and financial planning.
MSc Audiology with Clinical Placement
Acoustics is the science of sound and vibration — how they are produced, how they travel through air, water and solid materials, and how people perceive them. Students work on measurement, noise control, building and room design, audio technology and ultrasound. Graduates often work in engineering consultancy, audio, or research.
MSc Artificial Intelligence
This field studies how information is gathered, verified, analysed and communicated to support security and policy decisions. Attention goes to sources and their limits, analytic reasoning, cognitive bias, secrecy and ethics, along with clear written and spoken assessment. Graduates frequently work in analysis roles, risk and threat consulting, corporate security and policy research.

Close reading, argument and clear writing are the core skills. Graduates often enter publishing, teaching, media, communications, marketing and law.
MA Tesol
Standard English focuses on the conventions of the standardised form of the language: grammar, vocabulary, register and usage in formal writing and speech.
